I'm recruiting a post-doctoral researcher for a 14-month full-time scientific experimental research on smart composite material development for the UK EPSRC funded project on Self-tuning Fibre-reinforced Polymer Adapative Nanocomposite (STRAINcomp), at the Enhanced Composites & Structures Centre, Cranfield University, UK.

The applicant should have PhD (or near completion) relevant to polymer matrix composites and/or nanotechnology, desireably with research experience(s) post-PhD.
The successful applicant is expected to start before March 2018.
The research will contain experiments mapping from microstructural characterisation to macro-scale performance. The researcher will mainly be involved in polymer processing, polymer matrix composite processing and nano-material synthesis. The researcher will also be responsible to carry out mechanical tests and material characterisation. The research will also involve in-situ measurements at the STFC Diamond Light Source in Oxfordshire.
The successful candidate will be expected to work collaboratively with the external and internal collaborators including the Through-life Engineering Services Centre at Cranfield University, and the University of Manchester. The researcher will also be expected to publish in top rank relevant journals and proceedings, should be able to travel within UK and EU, and contribute to the supervision of PhD and MSc students.
